The operating rules for the 2011 competitive season
The ALPS rules have undergone a big revision over the last few years. The rules for the four competitive disciplines - swimming, diving, synchro and waterpolo - were brought together into one document. Rules common to all disciplines have been moved to a "cross-discipline" section. The rules specific to each individual discipline have been kept in their own section of the new rule book. In the case of a conflict between the cross-discipline rules and those for the individual discipline, the rules specific to the discipline will take precedence over the general rules.
These rules were edited and revised to clarify their meaning and intent; however, if you see a way to make further improvements, please contact your pool's ALPS rep or a member of the ALPS executive committee. The aim of this rule book is to be a clear guide to help each pool run inter-club events in a way that promotes fair competition among the participants, the true members of each pool.
